India

These images are from my trip to Chennai, India. I made this film to be shown at a 'one minute film festival' that my friends Jason Simon and Moyra Davey have been holding annually for the last 7 years. It gives a bit of the intense feel of the place. I loved it and can't wait to return.

Lucinda Childs "Dance"

I recently was blown away by the performance of Lucinda Childs 'Dance' that was performed at Bard. I've seen 'Dance 1' performed many times by her company in repertory over the years but never with the Sol LoWitt films. The original production was at BAM in 1979 which I didn't see. I'm very excited now to be able to see it yet again. She will be at the Joyce this October. I strongly encourage everyone to go. I believe it's a masterpiece.

I've recently returned from a awe inspiring trip out west. We flew to Las Vegas, rented a car and headed to Utah. Spent a week exploring the incredible sites of Zion and Bryce Canyon. The red rocks of Zion and the crazy shapes of the hoodoo's in Bryce made me feel like we'd landed on another planet. When we ended up at Ceasar's Palace for one night. The dancing waters at the Bellagio was literally over the top!

As I embark on the endeavor of blogging I'm faced with the task of learning the in's and out's of this technology. So excuse me if this is a bit awkward. I'm more interested to see how the photo will look. And to get the categories set up than writing. The photo is from India by the way. I was there for the first time in December enrolled in a month long yoga program at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram. A great place! There were 7 classes a day from 7:30 am to 6 pm. A very intense and wonderful experience. Just thinking about it slows my breathing. But more about that later. Right now I've limited time. I need to be preparing my anatomy workshop that I will be teaching next weekend for a 200 hour yoga teacher training. I've taught this a number times before but this time it's for a brand new teacher training at Sadhana where I teach so I'm taking the opportunity to refine the presentation of some of the information and add a few hands-on exercises. So I'll be back soon.

Hello out there. Whoever you are. Wherever you are. It's me. Whoever I am. Not certain, a bit blurry eyed, having gotten up at 6:30 this morning. As I was checking email I found one from my web designer telling me I have a blog site. Not sure what that means either. Is my life about to change? Or has it already and I just don't know it. He I go into blog-land. Stay tuned.
